During her tenure as the women’s basketball coach at Saint Louis University, Shimmy Gray-Miller developed players who were academically and athletically well-rounded. Under Gray-Miller’s leadership from 2005-2012, the Billikens transitioned to competing in the Atlantic-10 Conference. Her players earned seven All-A-10 awards while maintaining a 3.336 combined GPA and were recognized on the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.
Off of the court, she was recognized in 2011 for her work in the community and received the Greater Missouri Girl Scouts of America Distinguished Women Leaders Award. Gray-Miller is now a coach for the University of Nebraska women’s basketball team.
Vision 2020 Missouri Delegate Dayna Stock nominated Shimmy Gray-Miller as a woman with equality in sight for representing Vision 2020’s National Goal of recognizing women in leadership positions.
