Vision 2020 Arizona Delegate Pam Grissom held a booth displaying prominent women in Arizona from the past and present during the Tucson Festival of Books on March 10-11, 2012. During the event, Grissom surveyed about 180 people about their feelings toward Women’s leadership and Vision 2020. Below are the results:

If more women were in leadership, the world would be a better place.

– 161 checked “yes”

– 11 checked “no” or commented that it was too broad of a question

– 7 said women run families and know/consider what women’s needs are like better pay and childcare

– 5 said better legislation

– 4 said fair & kinder with fewer wars

– 2 said more maternal

Section 2:

In your opinion, what’s the biggest reason why there are not more women in leadership positions?

– 113 checked “There is an unspoken bias against women leaders.”

– 81 checked “Not enough people encourage women to become leaders.”

– 39 checked “Women are hampered by inadequate childcare.”

– 26 checked “Women do no choose to become leaders.”
